Supporting Families Through Pregnancy and Infant Loss: A Guide to Helpful Resources

Experiencing the loss of a baby is an incredibly difficult and heart-wrenching journey. For parents, it’s not just the pain of losing a child but the overwhelming weight of navigating grief while seeking comfort and understanding. One of the most important things to know during this time is that you are not alone. Many organizations and support groups are dedicated to helping families through this devastating experience. Whether you're seeking grief support, looking to make a donation, or simply needing to connect with others who understand, there are resources available to you.

Out of the Ashes: A Nonprofit Close to My Heart

I have the privilege of working directly with Out of the Ashes, a nonprofit organization based in Charlotte, NC, that provides compassionate support to families who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss.

This Mother’s Day, I’ve partnered with them to create custom digital keepsakes for 12 mothers as a small gesture of love and remembrance. Through this collaboration, I’ve witnessed firsthand the healing, hope, and community they offer.

While their in-person community group is mostly local to the Charlotte area, Out of the Ashes supports families throughout North Carolina - and even across the U.S. - through a variety of programs. They send care packs and bereaved parent cards to families nationwide, and offer a medical grant to families living in North Carolina and South Carolina.

If you're looking for meaningful support after loss, I can’t recommend Out of the Ashes enough. Their services include grief support groups, memorial events, comfort resources, and more - all designed to help families navigate the grief journey with compassion and care.

Honored to create these keepsakes for one of the families in Out of the Ashes’ Bereaved Mother’s Day Gifts program, in memory of their two precious babies.
